Everyday Style

Martini Toast to Everyday Style!

This week's blog is dedicated to our bloggers' request. Several of our bloggers have been asking Fashion Martini about everyday looks to wear during the week. We are featuring 7 chic looks.

During this time of the year (transitional season), one day it may be warm, the next cool, and the next freezing. Due to unexpected temperatures, you may have on a sleeveless shirt one day and a fur jacket the next. Don't push your winter gear to the back of the closet just yet.

SUNDAY:
You should start your week off looking and feeling fabulous. Opt for a dress on Sundays!

MONDAY:
We are very much into the babydoll top look. It comes across as classic and effortless style. Wide leg jeans are becoming a popular choice over the skinny legs for an everyday look. This look is pulled together with a large pair of shades and animal print bag.

TUESDAY:
Mini jackets (half body and arm length) will spice up any look! Opt for a mini jacket if you are wearing a plain tee with jeans. It will make a rather ordinary outfit look hot.

WEDNESDAY:
We really like this look because of it's mix-match nature. The brown purse with the grey boots is unexpected, yet well put together. Then, the choice of three different tone greys (jacket, scarf, boots) make this look stand out in a crowd, yet it's effortless chic.

THURSDAY:
Again we see a pair of wide leg pants with a dressier shirt. The wow factor in this outfit is the bold satin bow on the shirt. Bows were a fall trend but due to it's popularity, Spring has adopted this trend as well. Try shoes with bows to spice up a plain outfit.

FRIDAY:
Try a cowl neck dress, clutch, and boots. The trick in this outfit is the mix pairing of the sleek dress and bulky boots. The average person would pair these boots with jeans due to their bulky nature. However, pairing bulky with slinky is edgy and is the works of a true trendsetter. We love this concept!

SATURDAY:
Yellow, yellow, yellow....this satin top is IT and the color is FAB. The gathers at the top makes it an awesome choice for spicing up jeans. Again, we see wide leg denim with patent round toe shoes. We love the combination of satin and patent leather!

FASHION TIP:
Go for a unique mix of timeless pieces with a trendy edge. Too trendy comes across as too cheap looking and pieced together. Effortless style is what you should go for. For 2008, go for classic trendy looks that are naturally stylish and creatively chic. If you are thinking too much about your outfit, it's not effortless. The goal is to purchase items you LOVE and when you get dressed in the morning, go for whatever items you are drawned to...they don't have to match, you just have to love them together.
Blog us and let us know your thoughts on the featured looks. CHEERS!

2008 All Star Game - New Orleans

Martini Toast to New Orleans!

Hello FASHIONISTAS....let's not fool ourselves, we can care less about the actual All Star Game and who won, what we care most about is the styles that were on display during this week. Fashion Martini is dedicating this week's blog post to All Star Weekend! Below are four of the hottest events that took place this past weekend.

Please take a moment and vote on your choice using the poll provided to the right ->

2008 NBA All-Star in New Orleans Boost Mobiles Zo and Magic 8-Ball Challenge Celebrity Pool Tournament at the Sugar Mill February 14, 2008 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Gabrielle Union attends 2008 NBA All-Star in New Orleans - Zo & Magic's 8-Ball Challenge

Gabrielle Union showing love to her Louis Vuitton bag. We must admit, this bag is HOT!

Kim Kardashian looking beautiful as always. You can depend on Kim to rock a very stunning outfit at every event she attends.

Kim runs a trendy boutique named DASH with her sisters Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian. If you're ever in Calabasas CA, you should stop by and shop. They carry designer lines such as Alice & Olivia, Catherine Malendrino, Chloe, Christian Audigier, Development, and See By Chloe just to name a few.

Sisters, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian.

We love the clutch bag Eva Longoria is rocking below. She displays here huge collection of clutch purses in InStyle magazine this month. You can also get a sneak peak at her closet and shoe collection!

MTV host, LaLa in an animal print dress. All we can say is WOW...not too many people can get away with this dress but she rocks it with perfection.

Vivica Fox, rocking an animal print hat. We love this hat, very chic! As you can see, Animal Print is here to stay and can be worn across any season.

Look who we spotted having the GOOD time! "Lean with it...rock with it" Hey, where did she lay her leather jacket? She must have forgotten that she is in New Orleans (we're only kidding).

Vitaminwater Sponsors The Big Easy Billiards Bash and Afterparty with Shaquille O'Neal and Reggie Bush on February 15, 2008 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Kim Kardashian stood proud while supporting her man, NFL player Reggie Bush of the New Orleans Saints, as he auctioned items for charity. We are definitely feeling the white crisp shirt look under the dark brown leather jacket. The GOLD accents make the jacket really POP.

Women's Billiards Champ Jeanette Lee pose during the event. Fashion Martini would have done this outfit a little different than she does. We recommend the snake motiff blouse with a pair of grey straight leg jeans with over the knee black boots. Grey jeans are very chic!

Vivica Fox struts her stuff on the red carpet in Baby Phat.

Jordan Brand House of 23 event, celebrating the launch of the Air Jordan 23 during All-Star Weekend on February 15, 2008 in New Orleans.

Record Producer Jimmy Jam's wife, Lisa, on the red carpet at the Jordan event. She is rocking one of the recent Spring 2008 Trends identified by Fashion Martini - known as Cold Shoulder Dress. Her dress color is absolutely stunning.

Rosci of BET’s 106 & Park, on the red carpet at the Jordan event. She is also rocking a recent identified Spring 2008 trend - Gentle Ruffles! We love her blouse.

MTV Host, LaLa Vasquez, on the red carpet at the Jordan event. Stripes are proving to be a staple closet piece.

Actress Gabrielle Union on the red carpet at the Jordan event. She is great at turning basic pieces into her own edgy style. We love how she breaks up the brown leather jacket and boots with a black purse. The need to be matchy-matchy is long gone.

2008 NBA All-Star in New Orleans - Doublemint Gum Presents the 2nd Annual Jay-Z and LeBron James Two Kings Dinner and Afterparty on February 16, 2008 in New Orleans, LA.

Beyonce Knowles and Gabrielle Union attends the event, both wearing black dresses. Beyonce spices up her casual dress with stunning shoes!

Gabrielle Union keeps it simple with all black. Again, note the edgy vibe with her choice of boots to complement the black dress.

Behind every well dressed woman should be a well dressed man! We personally like the style of this couple, NBA player Chris Paul and his guest.

His outfit is delightfully pulled together with the mix-match patterns (strip shirt and plaid tie). Good Job Chris Paul or the woman behind your style!

FASHIONISTAS, please make sure your better half steps in style as well. CHEERS!

**Remember, there are those that SPLURGE and those that SAVE. We must admit, we are firm believers of both. However, when it comes to accessories, we tend to go for the SAVE option. If you are opting for saves, you can find great inexpensive accessories at Urban Outfitters, Forever 21, Target, and Stein Mart. With the "R" word bouncing around, try to opt for CHEAP CHIC whenever possible.

You can spice up any look with bejeweled serpents. You can try rocking a bracelet on one arm and a ring on the opposite hand OR you can go solo and rock a necklace by itself. We recommend at most no more than two pieces at a time. Don't go overboard with a ring, necklace, and bracelet all at the same time. However, we do recommend having each piece in your jewerly collection.
Gwen Stefani spiced up her look by accessorizing her navy Lanvin dress with a Cartier snake bracelet and panther ring.

What famous fashion designer donated four years of their time as the primary designer of uniforms? Ok, times up....In 1981, Oscar de la Renta donated his time for four years as the primary designer of a complete new set of uniforms for the Boy Scouts of America.

Until next week, CHEERS!
